Maritime Provinces of Canada II, September 7 -
18, 2004, is now complete. Enjoy the picture journey and the WOW
experience of tour members.
Our entry to the
Maritime Provinces -.
The New England
cuisine and mysterious fog direct us to New Brunsick.
After a visit to the farming area of New Brunswick and a stop at the
Petitcodiac Mennonite Church, we learn about the 35 feet rise and fall of
the Bay of Fundy Tides. This time we saw the beach and full exposure
of the "Flower Pot Rocks" at Hopewell Park.
Prince Edward Island is a land of beauty. This smallest of Canadian
Provinces boasts flowers and green hill and dales, potato fields, lobster
and mussel industry and red rocks and soil especially along the northern
coastline...
but -- most of all the spirit of Anne of Green Gables dominates.
The Green Gables House
and the walk down mythical "lovers lane" becomes reality
Nova Scotia is home to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum...
Our French Acadian guide, Nap, brings to life the rugged Cabot Trail coast
as well as the story of the expulsion of the French Acadians.
Sighting the "Tidal Bore" was exciting. To be present at the moment
the waters of the Bay of Fundy begin to return toward high tide - causing
the tidal bore - was a moment of learning and wonderment.
Peggy's Cove continues to be a place of relaxation and awesome wonder.
The massive rocks, the light house, the harbor and the rock carving
memorial to the fishing industry.
Remember the day our coach would not start and thankfully a quick repair was
nearby --
The tour family was an added bonus, the stories and conversation, the
evening games, group sing and the special music group.
We became like family. So many good memories to take home with us.
