The Alaska Tour/Cruise, July 12 - 27, 2002, is now complete.
Enjoy the picture journey and the WOW experience of tour members.
Welcome to the "Last Frontier" - Alaska, the 49th state.
When you remember Alaska, think BIG!
The Klondike Express took us on the 26 Glacier Tour on
Prince William Sound. Beautiful, pristine water, teeming with otters,
seals, lots of bird life and waterfalls and glaciers.
Just an hour out of Anchorage, in the Matanuska Valley, near Palmer, in the
shadow of Pioneer Peak, we took a look at Alaska's farming region. The
big leafy vegetables were sweet, the reindeer (caribou) and musk ox farms
unique.
A beautiful rail ride into Denali National Park. Enroute we saw
bear, moose and beaver dams.
Games in the comfort of our rail car. Relaxing!
Some unlikely white-water rafters. Wonderful!
We saw the "Great One", Mt. McKinley. Magnificent!
A riverboat ride on the Chena
River takes us to a native Alaskan village on the edge of Fairbanks.
A stop at Chicken, Alaska. Yes, that's the whole town.
A stop at North Pole,
Alaska. Have you
been a good boy,
Raymond?
Eating at the "Hard Rock" Restaurant enroute to the Yukon.
Sourdough's Al & Clara pan for
gold
3 beautiful Michigan sibs &
spouses enjoy the journey together
John's special day - "Happy birthday to you!"
Our worship experience in a
Dawson City bar - John Souder, our twig carver, says "Life is a Process".
All of us are bent shapes and unusual forms. As the Master Carver cuts
and chips away, much hidden beauty and character is brought out of each of
us. May this small creation remind you of the potential in your
life. Thank you, John.
Following the sourdoughs
"Trial of 1898", our rail ride gets exclamations from Howard and Shantilal
Our cruise ship awaits us to
take us on a relaxing 1000 mile cruise down the Inside Passageway
At our port stop in Ketchikan (Salmon capital), we saw a Lumberjack
exhibition.
